Meaning of Umrah
Umrah is an Arabic word which literally means pilgrimage to intend.
Shari’i meaning of Umrah is circumambulation of Baytullah Sharif wearing Ihram, between Safa and Marwah. Umrah is also called Hajj e Asghar.
Order of Umrah
According to Correct View, it is Sunnah Muaqadah for every able Muslim to perform Umrah once in his life.
Time of Umrah
The best time of Umrah is Ramadan. Then there is time of Umrah throughout the year except for five days. The Five days in which Umrah is prohibited are from 9 Zil-Haj to 13th Zil-Haj.
Umrah of Ramadan
It is in the hadith Sharif that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that Umrah (reward) in Ramadan is as important as Hajj with me.
Important Instructions
Umrah journey is not an ordinary journey but it is the most important journey of life. Therefore, We should concern from very beginning to make this journey with exception of etiquette.
Below are some Important Instructions related to Journey of Umrah. Try to Follow them As Much As Possible.
- Sincere Intention: The purpose of Umrah should be the sole intention of fulfilling the sunnah of Allah Almighty.
- Performing Umrah With Halal Wealth: It is necessary to pay all the expenses of Umrah with halal wealth.
The bad thing about haram wealth is that by using it neither worship nor supplication is accepted. - Repentance: One should sincerely repent before performing Umrah.
Conditions of Umrah
Ihram is a Condition for Performance of Umrah. Performing Umrah Without Ihram Will not be Considered Umrah.
- Being a Muslim
- To be Wise. It means not to be Crazy.
- Perform Umrah Acts on your own in case of power.
- Do not invalidate Umrah by sexual intercourse
Member of Umrah
The Member and obligation is to perform Tawaf e Umrah. It is Obligation to perform Four Rounds of Umrah, and obligatory to complete seven rounds of Umrah.
Obligations of Umrah
There are three obligations of Umrah.
- Performing Seven Rounds of Tawaf e Umrah.
- Sa’i between Safa and Marwah
- After Circumambulation and Sa’i Making the Halq or Qasr.
